Commercial carpet has a finite lifespan. Hotels typically recarpet corridors and function spaces every 8–12 years; retail centres and offices vary from 5–10 years depending on traffic. When that cycle comes around, you need a contractor who can manage the full scope — not just lay new carpet, but strip the old, prepare the substrate, and install the new with minimum operational disruption.

What a recarpeting scope includes

1. Strip and removal — existing carpet and underlay removed and bagged for disposal
2. Substrate inspection and preparation — floor levelling compound applied where required; adhesive residue removed
3. Underlayment — new underlay specified and installed where required
4. New carpet installation — to full specification, including seaming, trimming, and transition detailing
5. Disposal and clean-up — all waste removed from site; area returned clean and ready for use

Planning your refurbishment cycle

Most large commercial operators plan their recarpeting 12–18 months in advance. Early engagement allows us to:

• Specify materials with appropriate lead times (custom colourways can take 8–16 weeks to manufacture)
• Build a phasing programme around your operational calendar
• Coordinate with your project manager, ID firm, or facilities team
