Changi Airport
Changi Airport Group · Singapore Changi Airport, Singapore · 2018
Large-scale broadloom carpet installation across passenger terminal corridors and gate lounges at Changi Airport, executed in phases to keep the terminal fully operational throughout.
Changi Airport’s terminals demand flooring that performs under extraordinary foot traffic — tens of millions of passengers per year — while still reading as premium in one of the world’s most recognised travel destinations.
Neighborhood Carpet installed broadloom carpet across approximately 12,000 sqm of passenger corridors, gate lounges, and ancillary areas, working in coordinated phases to ensure zero disruption to airport operations. All works were conducted under strict airside security protocols, with our team trained and cleared for live-terminal access.
The project required precise material management: carpet rolls were cut and staged off-site, transported in approved vehicles, and installed to a tight schedule aligned with lower-traffic windows. Seaming and transition detailing met the airport’s exacting finish standards throughout.
Key facts
- Scope: Broadloom carpet installation, passenger terminals
- Area: ~12,000 sqm
- Product: Commercial-grade broadloom, heavy-traffic specification
- Install duration: 6 weeks (phased, live environment)
- Special requirements: Airside security clearance, night-works windows, no operational disruption
Challenge
Live-airport installation — passenger movement could not be stopped or significantly redirected. All installation had to be phased into overnight and off-peak windows, with each section returned to full service before terminal operations resumed each morning.
